New Year starts with disaster in Queens and elsewhere

Around 7:30pm, a male was sitting inside his vehicle in Jamaica was shot dead. This is on Supthin Blvd and Linden Blvd.

Around 1:30am, police report 3 teens shot after New Year's party at a local hotel in Kew Gardens. This is on Queens Blvd and 82nd Street inside the Umbrella Hotel. This is not the first time the hotel reported shooting. Police says 2 are in critical condition with 1 teen dead. Queens Blvd by that vicinity is closed. Police are working on crowd control.

Already after midnight, 1 female was shot by a stray bullet in Brooklyn while she was inside her bedroom. Another male shot in Manhattan. Another male shot in the Bronx.

Police are in Long Island City for weapon recovery after shots fired and later 1 shot. Another shot in Astoria.

Within 90 minutes after midnight, police reported of multiple locations for shots fired in NYC.
