Lone ball drop in Times Square
Posted on Jan 1 2021 7:30AM
Last night, the NYC mayor and his wife danced to the midnight ball drop at the Times Square while everyone else watched it on TV. By 10pm, Times Square was cleared due to the mandate of go home. 40 front line workers were invited along with local businesses and administrators from various non-profit organizations in NYC. All were required to sign a waiver before attending to make sure they will not sue the city if someone tested positive later. After 10pm, police reported of the general public in the area. By midnight, the New Year ball dropped and confetti was all over. By 1am, the sanitation dept crew cleaned up the area. By 9am today, NYPD removed the restriction from Times Square.
